I am a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast, I never miss it and eat the same thing every morning and never get tired of it. This to most people will seem very boring - for me it's a guarantee to good digestion.

With all the holidays we been having this month, my routine has been shuffled around and I found myself living dangerously! I had toast and marmalade for breakfast yesterday. Not just any toast - homemade rye & caraway bread with my own Seville orange marmalade!

Rye and Caraway Bread

230g Cake (all-purpose) Flour
8g Instant Dry Yeast (just less than one 10g packet)
30 ml Sugar
30ml Sunflower or Peanut Oil
380ml Buttermilk
150g Whole-wheat Flour (I use stone ground flour)
180g Fine Rye Flour
20ml Jenny Morris Caraway seeds
10ml Salt

If you are lucky enough to have a bread machine, add the ingredients as per manufacturers instructions and bake using whole-wheat option with medium crust.
Should you be making this by hand, follow this method.

Here is the recipe for the marmalade.

Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we know about peace, more about killing than we know about living. We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount.

I love marmalade, but no-one else in my family does - so I make it just for me.

Do you know where to get Seville oranges here? I've never found them, so usually make a three fruit marmalade with grapefruit and lemons to counteract the sweetness of normal oranges. I'd love to make it with real Seville oranges though - so please let me know if you have a secret source!

Kit - I have never seen seville oranges in the shops. I have a friend who has their own tree and they give me a huge bag every year!
When I can't get oranges, I usually just use lemons.

Oh, I love the sound of this bread! Any seedy bread like this gets my vote :)
