Applecrumble Pie

Apple Crumble

Filling
5 Peeled & Cored Apples cut into thick slices - I use a combination of Granny Smith and Pink Lady
4 TBSP Sugar
1 TBSP Butter
1 TBSP Lemon juice
1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Combine all ingredients in a pot, on low heat and gently cook until sugar has melted but apples still firm.

Topping
3/4  Cup Soft brown Sugar (the very dark one)
1 Cup of Flour
1/2 Cup of Butter
1/2 tsp of Cinnamon

Blend together well.... (This is a good time to use a food processor)
The mixture will be more ball like and not crumbly.

Place the apples in a 9" pie dish, with whatever sauce is in the pot.
Break off thumb size pieces of the topping mix, flatten slightly with your fingers and place on the apples until covered completely.
I usually have batter over, which I freeze for my next pie.

Bake at 190C for 25-30 minutes until topping is crisp and golden brown.

Serve with cream or vanilla ice-cream.

Jeremiah 17: 7-8

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water."

It is not your business to succeed, but to do what is right : when you have done so, the rest lies with God.
